Patiently He Waits; a poem

wandering out into
ways of this world
drifting further from

Him

pulling me in
I reach for His hand
drawing me back
I find solace within

a heart at

rest

renewed in strength
I venture again
too far from my shepherd
a sheep that’s

lost

into the distance, quickly I find
the boundaries too wide, the valleys too deep

turning, I look back
having gone too far

Wait!
Lord, I need you!
Don’t leave me!
I am scared!

gently He whispers,

“my child I am here”

running full speed, leaping into His arms
holding Him tight
desperately in fear

I am found

keep me my Lord
I am Yours
from this day

by Your side, I will follow
never separated

nor stray
